Stay at home orders have forced us to really think about take-out. Not only what we take-out, but what we let in to our homes and lives. For the most part we’ve take out what is called non-essential – Church, hanging out with friends, visiting family members, shopping, movies and dinning-in, even going to work and school is non-essential.
There are some plusses. I’ve taken out filling up my gas tank with $3 gas. Now it’s only $1.50 but my tank is full. I’ve taken out grocery shopping or any shopping for that matter. I’ve taken out dropping and picking up kids and running around all night to 100 different places. I’ve taken out no one eating dinner at the same time. I’ve taken out being alone in the house all day.
But today I’m thinking about what things I still need to take out.
Negativity
Anxiety
Fear
Resentment
What do I need to take in? What do I need to do to make the most of this unprecedent moment in time?
Positivity
Gratitude
Grace
Empathy
There’s a big push to get things back to normal. I think we’d be better off taking a moment to think about what’s a new normal we can create out of all this. I’m surrounding myself with people who want to rise up and make the most of this time. Check out riseupworld.com.
